Lactobacillus

Lactobacillus is a genus of gram-positive, facultative bacteria assigned to the Lactobacillaceae family. Lactobacillus comprises various species and subspecies, e.g. Lactobacillus acidophilus, brevis, and reuteri. Lactobacillus species are common colonisers of the human intestine, seen as sign of intestinal health (Walter et al. 2011).
