Fenugreek (Trigonella foenumgraecum) is a plant belonging to the fabaceae family. It is one of the oldest medicinal plants with many pharmacological properties such as carminative, antimicrobial, antiviral as well as antioxidant effects and is also used as a galactogogue. Due to its long history and use as medicinal plant fenugreek is considered safe even though clinical studies are largely missing (Ahmad et al., 2016, Mortel & Mehta, 2013).
