Acidic oligosaccharides fall into a subclass of nonulosonic acids but are also a group of glycans in human milk.Their negative charge from neuraminic acid (Neu5Ac) marks these molecules as acidic (Ayechu-Muruzabal et al. 2018; Varki et al. 2015-2017a).
